The article tells about the mass culture kitsch operation in the national literature of Indigenous people in the USA and Canada. The author brings into correlation kitsch as special matrix of inheritance and parody with aboriginal traditional culture and identity. According to the researcher, kitsch functions in Native authors’ literary texts. Tomas King and Susan Power use it as sense highlighter, Berth Branth incorporates it within queer-theory paradigm, while for Louis Owens it becomes protective mask.uk_UA
